Анотація: The aim of the course "English for Mass Media" is to cover English topics and skills related to mass media, such as: media literacy; ways to analyze media content; different ways of manipulation; bias in media; various types of media; and language in media. During the course students study various types of mass media, analyze different sources of media, create their own content and improve their English skills. The course is practice-based and will allow students to apply the developed skills in a series of hands-on activities.

ПРН-1: to communicate fluently on the topic 'Mass Media'; use English for successful intercultural communication.
ПРН-10: to know the norms of Standard English and to know how to use them in oral and written speech.
ПРН-11: to know the principles and techniques of creating oral and written texts of different types and styles.
ПРН-14: use English in written and oral forms, in different styles (official, non-official, neutral) to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, professional, scientific spheres of life.
ПРН-22: to be able to edit English articles.

Форми та методи навчання: практичні заняття, самостійна робота

Методи й критерії оцінювання: рейтингове оцінювання за 100-бальною системою: поточний контроль - 70 балів (відвідування та участь на заняттях, поточні письмові тести, фінальний тест); підсумковий контроль - 30 балів (залік);
