Анотація: This course includes additional advanced policy analysis course topics. The course provides an understanding of the complex political and economic dynamics of the modern world and how the government acts in this context when developing evidence-based policies. Proceeding from the Institutional Model of Policy Making, Theory of Bounded Rationality, Game Theory and Polycyclic Model of Policy Making Process student develop their practical skills to analyze political aspects of making policy decisions. Students will learn about general approaches to identifying and analyzing short-, medium- and long-term policy impacts, in particular, economic, environmental, and gender impacts; The practice of conducting regulatory impact assessments in Ukraine and OECD countries is considered in more detail

Результати навчання: After completing the course, students will
- understand ways and methods of policy impact assessment;
- identify the socio-political environment of public policy analysis;
- be able to analyze regulatory and gender impacts;
- be able to classify key stakeholders and identify their positions;
- be able to predict the impact of public policy implementation on stakeholders;
use methods and forms of public consultation in the policy process.

Методи й критерії оцінювання: The overall course grade (up to 100 points) consists of four components. They are: - Class participation (in-room activities that include case-studies, discussions, analysis of situations etc.) – up to 70 points (35 module 1+35 molule 2); - Essay 1 on Political Analysis in Public Policy Making and Policy Analysis – up to 10 points; - Essay 2 “Regulatory Impact Analysis in Practice: Critical Assessment” – up to 10 points; Public Presentation of the Research Results (first and second essays separately) (peer-assessment) – up to 5 points for each.
