General Information


The Department of Marketing and Business Management at the Faculty of Economics of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy is a fundamental structural department aimed at training specialists in the field of Marketing.

 

The Department was established in March 2005 by a number of professionals with a great practical experience in consulting services, business seminars, development and support of business projects, who formed the first program based on their courses in the spheres of Marketing, Management, Expert Business Assessment, Real Estate and Investments, Personnel Management, Project Management. Since its formation this unit of teaching professionals became a part of the Faculty of Economics under the name of the Department of Management and Business Management.

 

The Department of Marketing and Business Management actively promotes the realization of the Kyiv-Mohyla educational strategy, which is aimed at transforming a current model of educational process into an innovative program that will combine educational process with science, both fundamental and practical. In accordance with this strategy the Department pays considerable attention to the research work, the results of which immediately get a wide practical application.

 

The Master Program at our Department proposes a special scientific school Consumer Behavior. It was established in 2007 as a part of Economic Theory specialization. The program of the School includes a number of the most innovative courses in the sphere of Marketing taught by our best faculty members, that may be taken either as separate courses or in a complex which forms a minor program in Consumer Behavior for master students in all fields.

 

The scientific topic of the Department is a system approach to the formation of an effective marketing strategy for an organization. The practical realization of this topic includes publication of scientific articles and teaching materials, participation in communicative events for the publication, organizing the discussions of such problems as improving the mechanisms of organization management and increasing the effectiveness of management solutions in the conditions of modern market.

 

Within the project of the department - Consumer behavior in the system of management of organizations development is at the core of the School’s program, therefore it runs all kinds of activity: scientific and research, scientific-educational and publishing, and works in the area of scholarly research management and organization as well.

 

The Department of Marketing and Business Management is one of the organizers of the International Scientific and Practical Conference for students, postgraduates, doctoral students and young scientists called Theory and Practice of Entrepreneurship that takes place at Vernadsky Taurian National University (Simferopol’, Crimea) annually. Our professors head two sections there – Consumers’ Influence on Organizations and Management the Development of Organizations in Market Conditions.

 

The Department is oriented on developing relationships with foreign higher educational institutions and other organizations, which gives two great opportunities: to study abroad and to use international experience of training specialists in marketing here.
