The Kyiv-Mohyla Department of Political Science is one of the most progressive in Ukraine. Our Program harmoniously combines deeply theoretical disciplines with the practical direction courses.
The Bachelor studies are carried out in two main areas: Modern Approaches to Political Research, and Civil Society and State.
The Master Program in Political Science offers students three specializations: European Studies, Values and Socio-Cultural Principles in Politics and German and European Studies, the latest being an international project which gives a Diploma with double accreditation – at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and at Frederick Schiller University (Yen, Germany).
The graduates of the Department of Political Science work in state institutions, analytic centers, political parties, non-governmental organizations and research centers which deal with the analysis of state policy or with political science for public administration. They can also find themselves in political journalism.
The Department of Political Science actively cooperate with such famous institutions as:

- Raymond Aron Center for Sociology and Politics (CESPRA, France)
- Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (Lublin, Poland)

The result of this cooperation are original courses built on the latest world-class techniques. Thanks to the international connections of the Department several undergraduate students can study at foreign universities every year, and the teachers from the foreign educational institutions offer their courses at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy.
The Department has three scientific centers where students can not only improve their theoretical knowledge and consolidate their practical skills, but also test themselves as a political commentators and analysts in media. These centers are: Institute of Civil Education, School of Political Analytics and Center for Interdisciplinary Research of World Politics
Today the alumni of the Kyiv-Mohyla Department of Political Science are working in the Secretariat of the President of Ukraine and in the apparatus of various political parties. Besides that they are willingly hired by the well-known scientific institutions, such as National Institute of Strategic Studies, Kuras Institute of Political Studies and Ethnopolitics, Institute of State and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and many others.
