On May 17-18, 2019, the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" hosted an international conference and its multinational participants
It was titled "The International Criminal Justice Cascade: From the ICC to the National Courts and Back.”
The conference has become a vivid example of the organic combination of theory and practice. The participants who made this possible included leading scholars from Ukraine and Europe, representatives of the International Criminal Court, and experts from human rights movements and the academic study of International Criminal law. These discussions also included a focus on hybrid war and lawfare in addition to discussions of the effectiveness of international-criminal procedures. The conference discussions were organized by the following panels:

- The Interaction of National and International Jurisdictions: Challenges and Opportunities
- Teaching International Criminal Law: What To Focus On?
- Documenting Standards of International Crimes: How to Apply in Practice?
- The Complementarity Principle as the Basis of the ICC.
