Classics of the World Cinema is a periodical published at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy since 2000. The 8th issues of this journal was printed recently. This edition is composed of the essays about the most prominent film directors of America and Europe written the the Kyiv-Mohyla students during the course History of Cinema.
The list of the directors whose heritage our students have studied includes Orson Welles, Akira Kurosawa, Ingmar Bergman, Serhii Paradjanov, Michelangelo Antonioni, Leonid Osyka, Lucino Visconti, Stanley Kubrick, Andrey Tarkovskiy, François Truffaut, Lars von Trier, Sergey Bukovskiy.

These are all the students who proves to be interested in the classical works of the World cinema and to be keen in their new creative interpretation. Each essay is very personal, independent and creative, yet at the same time the authors show a high level of knowledge in the sphere of history and theory of cinema.
The journal is edited by Prof. Larysa Briukhovets’ka, who is the author and tutor of the course History of Cinema.
