From May 13 to May 24, 2024, NaUKMA School of Public Health in partnership with the Center for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support were training 24 representatives of various organizations and institutions from Ukraine to implement CETA (Common Elements Treatment Approach) – an evidence-based intervention used in Ukraine since 2016. The CETA training was part of a study aimed at understanding the factors affecting the implementation of evidence-based mental health interventions in Ukraine and is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) within the framework of the International Research Career Development Award. Participants included representatives of medical institutions, educational institutions, civil society and humanitarian organizations, such as social rehabilitation centers, primary healthcare organizations, lyceums, as well as other organizations that provide psychological and psychosocial support to the population.

The aim of the training is to prepare CETA practitioners and explore the factors influencing the implementation of structured evidence-based mental health interventions in different organizational contexts. The study will collect data on the experience of participants in implementing CETA in their organizations within 6 months after the training. The study is based on the principles of implementation science, which involves a systematic study of factors that facilitate or hinder the widespread implementation of evidence-based approaches.
