NaUKMA Center for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support received a new grant from the Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation (OeAD-GmbH) under the support of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research (BMBWF) for the implementation of the project «SAFE SPACE 3 – Emergency Psychological Support for Students and School Teachers».

The project is a continuation of fruitful cooperation with the Agency, the State Service of Education Quality of Ukraine and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, which began in 2022 with the project "SAFE SPACE – Emergency Psychological Support for Students and School Teachers" aimed at contributing to increasing the effectiveness of psychological adaptation of students in Ukrainian schools.

The purpose of the new project is to expand the activities started in the previous project, as well as to increase the capacity of Ukrainian schools at the level of 10 selected communities by introduction of psychosocial techniques for overcoming stress, strengthening resilience and the open dialogue method for providing psychosocial support to affected schoolchildren in Ukraine based on the developed and piloted by the NaUKMA Center for Mental Health and Psychosocial Support multi-level package of educational and psychosocial interventions for teachers and school psychologists ("Safe Space" and "Open Dialogue").

The interventions developed not only help children in schools, but also correspond to new approaches to teaching introduced by the educational reform, while supervision provided by NAUKMA's team of trainers to teachers and school psychologists is recognized as a key component of the approach, which has shown promising results according to the findings of evaluation studies.
