Turanly Ferhad Gardashkan Oglu (Ferhad Turanly /تورانلي فرهاد ,( was born on December 26, 1960 in Azerbaijan. In 1977-79 years lived and worked in Baku. In 1979-81 served in the Soviet Army in Lviv and Ivano- Frankivsk. Afterwards worked in the Internal Affairs Ministry bodies, in particular at the Police School within the Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine. In 1992 graduated from Vasyl Stefanyk Ivano-Frankivsk Paedagogical Institute, Faculty of History majoring in History. In 1993-96 completed a post-graduate course of study at the Prykarpattia National University, Specility “The World History”. In 1994-1996 and in October 2001 had a practice at Istanbul International University and researched the sources relating to his thesis in Turkish archives and libraries, and also studied the Ottoman-Turkish language, paleography, history of religions and cultures. In 1997 defended his thesis to be awarded the scientific degree of the Candidate Historic Sciences (Ph.D) at the Specialized Academic Council of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, M.S. Hrushevsky Institute of the Ukrainian Arheography and Sources Study (Kiev), and in 2003 completed a doctoral course of studies at the said Institute. He researched the problems of the history of Ukraine’s interstate relations, in particular those with Turkey in the 16th-18th centuries, and the Ottoman-Turkic paleography. Defended the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Historical Sciences (History) under the name of “The Cossack period in Ukraine's history in Ottoman Turkish writing sources” (Speciality 07.00.06 ─ Historiography, Studies of Sources and Special Historic Disciplines), took place at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv On October 12, 2017. In 1997-2000 he started to teach at Prykarpattia National University, Ivano-Frankivsk of Ukraine. In 2000-2006 worked as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty for Turkic Studies at the Institute of Philology within Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University. In 2006-2007 worked as an Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations within Averroes Ukrainian-Arabic Institute, Interregional Academy for the Personnel Management. Since 2007 up to now he has been an Associate Professor at the Faculty for Humanities within the National University “Kyiv Mohyla Academy”, Ukraine. Recipient of the awards “For the personal contribution to the development of the Oriental Studies in Ukraine” from Kyiv Municipality; “For the personal contribution to the development of the Oriental Studies at the National University “Kiev Mohyla Academy”. He is a participant of the 1st Congress of Azerbaijanians in Baku (November 10-14, 2001) and international scientific conferences (in Ukraine, Poland, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Romania, Saudi Arabia Kingdom and others). He is a co-founder of the Congress of Azerbaijanians of Ukraine. He is the Chairman of the Assembly of the Azerbaijanian and Ukrainian Intellectuals. He has the scientific degree of the Assistant Professor of Arabic and Turkic Studies. He is the author of a lot of scientific works published in Ukraine and abroad. He was an Adviser to Gennady Udovenko, a People’s Council Deputy of Ukraine (2006- 2008). 2 2016 – state award / medal “For new developments” (“PROGRESS” / | “TƏRƏQQİ”) for the recognition of professional and social activities of the President of Azerbaijan Republic. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the Keeper of Two Holy Mosques / الحرمين خادم الشريفين things of the Saudi Arabia Kingdom – His Highness King Salman ibn Abdulaziz as- Saud for His official invitation of me as His guest to Saudi Arabia, where I stayed from 2 to 17 September 2016, so as to make a pilgrimage – Hadj in 1437 of Hegira. He is a permanent resident of Ukraine.

2007 – present Associate Professor of General and Slavic Linguistics Faculty of Arts of the National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy”.
1997-2000 – Assistant Professor of Cultural and Religious Studies Faculty of Philosophy of the University Prikarpatsky Vasyl Stefanik.
