Dear Sergiy Mironovych,
I am one of the former students of NAUKMA, graduate of economics class of '04. I am currently studying at the PhD in economics at the University of Virginia. We met 3-4 years ago in the Washington, DC area in the USA, during the reception for the NAUKMA fund-raising event, right before you were promoted to the president position.
I would like first of all extend my sincere support at this time to you and the academy. A large number of my personal accomplishments I attribute to an excellent education and above all valuable social experience obtained at NAUKMA. Stringent English language requirements, ability to direct my educational agenda and freedom of choosing classes and specialization prepared me to face and succeed in new academic and professional environments. I am confident that many other alumni of NAUKMA who are currently either doing serious scientific research or making successful professional career will share my thoughts. I am certain that NAUKMA is extremely important and patriotic project undertaken to raise well-rounded, flexible, and nationally-conscious citizens of Ukraine. I truly believe that NAUKMA's success, which can be attested by many achievements of its alumni, deserves a close attention as a paragon for emulation.
I am very proud of being an alumnus of the academy and hope that its cause will be sustained, not blindly ruined by bureaucratic decrees. If there is anything I could do or support/help our Alma Mater, please let me know.
